Extra Curricular Activities

The school places high emphasis on health and well being and the importance of regular physical activity and this is encouraged not only within school time but after as well. We run numerous after-school sports' clubs for children to choose from, some of which are paid for by parents and others which are funded by the school budget.

Currently we have a range of clubs running from football and ultimate frisbee to athletics and dance. We also have the AFC Telford United players and coaches running a weekly football club, which again is provided free of charge for children in KS2. We also have Kyushinkai Karate and self defence club which is led by a registered 7th Dan (BKA registered) instructor and this is open to children in year 1 and above. This club enables children to progress through their belts and are invited to attend regular gradings at the dojo based in Tweedale.

As well a physical activities the school promotes a range of after school clubs designed to inspire and aid children reflect their creative sides including pottery and clay workshops as well as web design and drama.

Tournaments

We participate in a range of sports tournaments from Football to Athletics and even swimming. This allows children the opportunity to put their skills in a competitive situation whilst enjoying sport and the benefits it brings to them.

Residential Visits

During the summer term we host our Year 6 residential trip to Arthog, situated in Wales. Here the children have an opportunity to attempt sports that cannot be covered in our school grounds or curriculum including canoeing, rock climbing and gorge walking.

We stay for two nights and three days and the whole weekend focuses around team work and personal goal setting which ties in perfectly to our school motto. Arthog provides the perfect respite after SAT's and it is eagerly anticipated throughout the whole year by the staff and children alike.

Year 2 children, recently attended a one night residential visit to the Kingswood Outdoor Centre in Albrighton, Wolverhampton. While there they participated in many learning opportunities in the outdoors including den building, orienteering and tree climbing.

Below you'll find videos of our most recent residential trips.
