St Matthew's Primary 'Plastic Free Schools' Pollution Project

Monday, March 1, 2021

At St Matthew's Primary School we have been inspired by a range of influential people making us more aware of the problems with plastic pollution and the damage we are causing to our oceans and inadvertently ourselves. We have decided to make a change towards our stance on plastic usage as an individual, class and even a school and aiming to make a difference in the wider community. We have enrolled on 'The plastic free schools' initiative and our journey begins now and we need your support. We have taken the opportunity to study the use of single use plastics and how they are having such a detrimental impact on our planet and it's inhabitants, animal and human. Our aim is to meet the five objectives set out to achieve the Plastic Free School status. we have selected ambassadors from year 3/4 to take charge of the challenge but every single child and adult in the school and their part to play. Please take a look at the steps we have taken to change our culture and thinking around this interesting and important topic. Our amazing classroom displays show you how passionate we are about this and we hope you like them. Welcome to St Matthews journey towards being a Plastic Free School.
