Year 3/4 - Saint Sophia
Welcome to St Sophia
St Sophia is considered to be a Christian Martyr.
Sophia is known for teaching and speaking the truth even when it results in the death of her own family. Faith, Hope, and Love are pure examples of defending their faith no matter their age. Many Christians pray to St. Sophia and her daughters for strength and courage in any persecution they are facing in their lives. St Sophia demonstrates our school's core values, Respect, Responsibility, resilience.
I am very pleased to be teaching Year 3/4, both myself and Miss Cheshire are very excited to share our learning journey with our wonderful children.
Reading: As a school we believe that reading empowers our children to explore the world and lose themselves in a fictional land.
Mathematics: As we are a mixed Year 3/4 class, times tables is extremely important for this academic year. We strongly encourage pupils to regularly practise their times tables both at home and in school to increase their fluency and accuracy with times tables.
Homework: Every week, children will be set homework focusing on either Literacy of Mathematics. They will be given their homework book every Friday and it needs to be handed in no later than the following Thursday. This is so that we can mark their work and stick in the next piece ready for the following day. Children will also be expected to practise their weekly spelling using spelling shed and access Times Tables Rockstars. We encourage parents to help with homework where they can.
Thankyou for visiting, we will update our class page throughout the school year.
