Reading and Writing
This half term we will be reading the book 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian. We are looking forward to studying a book by a famous English author who won the 1982 Guardian Prize for her book. It has now been adapted several times for the screen and on stage.
We will be using our knowledge of WW2 and our class text, Goodnight Mr Tom to write a character description and a letter.
History
This unit will focus on the lives of Jewish people in Europe during World War Two. We will be analysing extracts from the Diary of Anne Frank and understand why and how the lives of Jewish people living in Europe changed with the onset of World War Two and Hitler rising to power in Germany.
Maths
Our spiral curriculum sees us revisit Multiplication and Division again. A particular focus for multiplication will be the area model.
RE
In RE we will be exploring what kind of Jesus is. This includes: analysing some of the Parables told by Jesus and what the message from them is, understanding what Christian's believe about the future Kingdom of God and how the Kingdom of God can be extended to Earth by challenging social injustice.
