Year 2 – Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph's Class page.
Who was Saint Joseph?
Saint Joseph was the husband of the Virgin Mary and the foster father of Jesus. Joseph was chosen by God as a trustworthy guardian and protector of Mary and Jesus. Joseph was a carpenter and he spent his life working very hard. He wanted to provide for his family.
I am delighted to be teaching Year 2 this year and look forward to taking the children on an exciting learning journey alongside Miss Keeble our fantastic HLTA.
Pupils in St Joseph will need need to remember that they must come to school in their PE kits on our designated PE days which are a Monday and Tuesday. Pupils should also bring their reading books into school every day.
Homework:
Every Friday, children we have a new set of homework. It will alternate between Maths and English based work. In addition to this, children will be given a new set of 10 spellings that they will need to practise for the following week. To support with this, children have been given EdShed logins where they can play games that match the spelling pattern they are learning.
In year 2, children are expected to know their 2s, 5s and 10 timetables. To help with this, children have logins to access games, recall and competitions on TTRockstars that will support them in gaining the confident and knowledge in their timetables.
