TAARC help us to celebrate African and Caribbean Celebration Month
On Thursday 7TH October 2021, TAARC (Telford African and Afro-Caribbean Resource Centre) visited our school to help us to celebrate African and Caribbean Celebration Month. Natalie and Qumar hosted a workshop for Years 3 and 4 and our school INSPIRE group. This years workshop focused on The Windrush Generation.
"On Thursday, our class went into the hall and learnt about Black History Month also known as African and Caribbean Celebration Month. We learnt that there were thousands of people that got on a boat (Empire Windrush) and travelled to Britain. They did this to explore, get jobs or help rebuild Britain after the Second World War following the bombing. Some had to leave their family in the Caribbean." By Theo, Max, Ethan and Ben.
