St Matthew's C.E Primary School

“I can do all things because Christ gives me strength” Philippians 4:13

"Health is the soul that animates all the enjoyments of life, which fade and are tasteless without it." - Lucius Annaeus Seneca

We have several routine services provided by the School Health Service in conjunction with the school. The School has a named School Nurse, Kit Pool who is based at Wellington and whose telephone number is 01952 820105. During the second term at school, the School Nurse will carry out a general health check and screening.  The School Nurse also has access to Health Visitors’ records relating to a child’s pre-school years.  Information will be gathered during a child’s second term in school, normally through a meeting between the headteacher (or school representative) and health representatives. The School Doctor, who also has access to the Community Medical Records for each child, will then compile a list of those children who require further medical intervention.  In all cases, full discussion will take place with parents and parental consent obtained before any examination takes place.

If you have any concerns about your child’s health, including bed wetting, soiling and behaviour at home, you can contact the School Nurse who will be pleased to discuss those concerns with the Doctor.  The Doctor will then contact you and may arrange an appointment to see you and your child if necessary.
